1. A fun outfit...
...just something that you feel good in.
3. Easy food.
If you're not a cook, try a charcuterie board, cheese plate, and breads. Add grapes in and around it all. It sounds fancy, and looks like you know what you're doing but you're playing it cool, and is super easy to make.
4. Good drinks!
Coffee, tea, beer, wine, cocktails, champagne... whatever the occasion calls for. Make sure to have something good for the teetotalers in the group too!
5. Good music.
Spotify makes things really easy these days. If one of your guests is a music snob, have them pick it out. One less thing to think about!
6. Set the mood...
...with the right lighting. Maybe it's candles and dim light, maybe it's a bonfire, maybe it's daylight. Just make sure to think it over.
7. Clean up a bit,
but don't over stress it. Once there are people inside and the mood is set, no one will notice a thing.
8. Check the bathroom.
Clean it up and have extra TP ready to go. Light a candle or have a couple flowers in a vase. Oh, and make sure to hide away those embarrassing medications in your cupboard. No one said your friends weren't snoops.
9. If you're going to be loud,
and the party is going to go late, at least let the neighbors know... maybe even invite them over. You're an adult now, so act like one.
10. Have fun in your role as host.
Enjoy talking to your guests, make introductions, and get conversations going. You've already prepared for the party, so get out of the kitchen and don't fuss around... it's time to party!
